About The Author

Hi, I’m Ashley Kiara. I began dancing at the age of three at the Edwin Holland School of Dance, where I trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and eventually hip hop until I was fifteen. Dance has always been a part of my life, and I’ve also been a storyteller at heart. I love using creativity to inspire, empower, and connect with others. Growing up, I never imagined that my passions for movement and storytelling would one day come together to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children.

Before 2020, I was on a very different path. I spent several years working as a physical therapy technician and was preparing to apply to graduate school to become a doctor of physical therapy. When the pandemic forced the world to slow down, it gave me space to reflect. I realized I had been ignoring the part of myself that once felt most alive. That season led me back to dance, a passion that had never truly left me.

In November 2020, I began teaching dance to kindergarten through third-grade students at KIPP Miami. I taught them how to dance, step, and recite poetry, creating opportunities for expression and confidence. Some of my students were even featured on CNN and shared across popular social media platforms.

On days when my students needed a moment of calm or a creative reset, I searched for dance-themed coloring pages but couldn’t find any that reflected them. There were no Black or Brown dancers, no hair that looked like theirs, no true representation. That was the first time God placed the idea on my heart: Start making your own. At the time, I wasn’t ready to listen.

In 2023, I made the difficult decision to step away from education due to school politics. Over the next year, I explored content creation and continued nurturing my creativity through food reviews, videography, storytelling, and filmmaking. During that time, the idea of coloring books kept resurfacing, but I still wasn’t fully committed. I attempted to create one, but without intention or purpose, and it showed. Looking back, I understand that I wasn’t yet ready to accept the assignment God had placed before me.

In the summer of 2025, God finally led me to confront the question, Why coloring books? After years of growth, reflection, and preparation, the answer became clear. Even though I was no longer in the classroom, I still had a calling to inspire and empower children. That realization marked the moment I fully committed to building this business with intention, purpose, and obedience.

Today, I am proud to be the author and creator of ten children’s coloring books that celebrate representation, creativity, and the joy of dance. My hope is that every child who colors these pages sees themselves, feels empowered, and discovers the confidence to express who they are. I invite you to explore the books, share them with the children in your life, and join me in inspiring the next generation of dreamers and dancers.
